  • How to Troubleshoot your British Car

What do you do if you can't get your classic car started? In this video Travis explores several different ways to find the issue if your car isn't starting.

First, check to see if you actually have gas in the car. You'll want to physically check this rather than rely on the gas gauge.

SAIC Motor, MG’s parent company, has opened a base in the USA to extend its North American operations.

SAIC has a long standing joint venture with General Motors and senior engineers at MG Motor UK are involved with GM on the development of future engines.

  • The World's Most Expensive Car Accident: $31 Million Ferrari

The recent news of a $31 million Ferrari that was involved in the world’s most expensive car accident last week, has all car racers and fans saddened and shocked. American businessman Christopher Cox was involved in a collision during a motorcade of GTOs through France en route to the La Mans Classic. While passengers in both cars were hurt, luckily no fatalities were reported. And, it’s yet unknown whether the car can be salvaged. Although betting on the emotional and financial attachment to the vehicle, it’s likely that every attempt will be made!

Performance car accidents may be a risk its owners take, but when the vehicles involve classics that have been lovingly resorted to their (or past) their original beauty and capabilities, it evokes additional emotions and gasps to car race fans everywhere.

We know many of our customers have restored their British cars to performance shape for the purpose of racing in many cases, or just showmanship or personal pride in others. We sell what we stock, and at BP Northwest, we have a wide array of items for your Austin Healey, Jaguar, Land Rover, MG, Mini or Triumph. Whether you are looking to get your British car ready for an upcoming rally or just make some finishing touches in time for an upcoming town event or parade, we are in the business to get you the parts you need at prices that are fair.

Our business was started with owner Greg Sherick’s love of races and finding parts that were needed. It started out as—and remains the same way today—a family operated company. As always, we strive to provide new parts for the British cars noted at reasonable prices and with fast and courteous service!

  • Austin-Healey Racing Car at Center of 1955 La Mans Tragedy to Be Sold

An Austin-Healey racing car involved in the worst crash in motor sport history is set to sell for nearly £1million.

The disaster at the Le Mans 24-hour race in 1955 saw 84 people killed after the car was clipped by a Mercedes, which then flew into the crowd.

But now, the Austin-Healey's anonymous owner has decided to sell it at auction after keeping it locked up for the past 42 years at a garage in the north of England.

Scores of spectators were killed instantly as debris hurtled towards them at 150mph and fires erupted in the grandstand from the wreckage. The French driver of the Mercedes, Pierre Levegh, also died in the crash, in north-west France.

After the tragedy, the Austin-Healey - driven by British racer Lance Macklin - was impounded by the French authorities before it was released to the British company the following year.

It was later sold to several private buyers before the current owner of the car - registration NOJ 393 - bought it for £155 in 1969.
Despite its macabre past and rusty state, motor sport enthusiasts are said to be willing to pay huge sums for it as it is a 'crucially historic landmark car', according to U.K.’s MailOnline news.

Austin-Healey remains a beloved British car. With is sleek and unique styling and performance, collectors continue to lovingly refurbish and restore these cars back to its original finery. At British Parts Northwest, we have a large selection of parts for your Austin Healey, or for your Jaguar, Land Rover, MG, Mini or Triumph for that matter.

Unlike many other British parts supply stores, we stock what we sell. Our motto is to have returning satisfied customers who can count on our fair prices, fast shipping and availability of parts. Currently, we are offering free shipping on all orders over $750.
