  • British Cars Built for Racing

British Parts Northwest Classic Car Racing

Vintage Sports Car Racing is something that many British car enthusiasts may find of interest.  There are several classic British cars that were built specifically for racing and we wanted to highlight a few of those cars.

Austin Healey- The Austin Healey was one of the most popular British racing cars. It was raced by the Donald Healey Motor Company in Europe at Le Mans and in Sebring in the U.S . The last Big Healey to win an SCCA National Championship was the class E Production Austin-Healey 100-6 driven by Alan Barker at the Daytona ARRC in 1965. You can find parts for several Austin Healey models here at BP.

Jaguar- There were multiple models of the Jaguar that were involved in racing, including the C-Type, D-Type, E-Type, XJ13, XJ-C, XJ41 and XJ42. If you are the proud owner of an E-Type, you can get parts for your car, right here from our website!

Land Rover- There are a couple of modified Land Rovers that have competed in off-road racing, specifically the Dakar Rally and the Camel Trophy.

MG- In the MG family, the MGA, MGB, and Midget (MG Midget Racing Coupes) all had models that participated in racing. The MGA had considerable success, racing extensively in the U.S. There were MGBs that were specially tuned for racing, which achieved success including a Grand Touring category victory in the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally. There were 3 Midgets that were ordered by MG racing driver, Dick Jacobs. The cars were campaigned from 1962-1964. We have parts for the MGA, MGB and the Midget, in addition to other models of the MG.

Triumph- The Triumph Spitfire and GT6 both had models that were built for racing. We proudly carry parts for both of these Triumph models, in addition to other Triumphs!

  • British Cars in the Movies

In last week's blog, we celebrated the anniversary of the James Bond movie franchise and this week we thought we would continue the theme and showcase other movies that have featured British cars. British cars have been featured in movies for years now and they continue to be seen in newer movies as well. Here are a few of our favorites:

Austin Powers- International Man of Mystery featured a Jaguar E-Type that was patriotically painted with the Union Jack flag, like the one below.

Another recent movie to boast a British car was Get Smart, which was based off of the 1960s TV series. In the movie, Steve Carrell drives an orange Sunbeam Tiger.

In 2003's The Italian Job, you will see many British cars. While most of the publicity came to the three Mini Cooper S in the movie (similar to the one below), there was also Jaguar E-Types, an Aston Martin DB4 and a Land Rover Series IIa station wagon.

If you have any favorite movies with British cars, we'd love to hear about it! Comment below or share with us on our Facebook page!

At British Parts Northwest, we stock and sell parts and accessories for your beloved Austin Healey, Jaguar, Land Rover, MG, Mini or Triumph.

  • Jaguar E-Type Vehicles Among Most Coveted Beauties

There are too many European sports cars that are considered the all-time classics to pinpoint just one. Sleek designs, high performance, interior beauty, and legendary power and racing abilities have made us fans of various models, although certain loyalties or favorites typically prevail. Many Americans have a huge adoration of Jaquars, and specifically with the E-type vehicles. The E-types, also known as XK-E, were manufactured between 1961 and 1975 and considered an icon of British classics.

ZZ0E1D3AC4.jpgIt was initially designed and shown as a rear-wheel drive two-seater coupe and as a convertible, with the 2+2 version being released later. More than 70,000 E-types were sold during its lifespan, and many have been lovingly restored to their original (or better) glory! And, it’s no surprise at all, since numerous British car enthusiasts and reviews touted it as one of the “most beautiful” cars ever made!

If you are one with a passion for an E-type and are lucky enough to own one of these beauties, then you will love our in-stock availability for parts that will maintain its beauty for years to come! At British Parts Northwest, we stock what we sell, and sell direct from us to your door! We aren’t the middleman; we stock parts for the most classic and beloved European cars. Our website lets you easily and conveniently choose the part you need and then place your order with the knowledge that it will be delivered to you directly within days!

One of our featured cars we have in-stock parts for is indeed the Jaguar E-type. We have products for the body, mechanical and trim, braking components, carburetion fuel system, clutch, cooling system, drive train, exhaust, and more. We also feature performance parts, steering and suspension, cylinder head components, and basically most any part you will need or want for your ride.

Of course, if Jaguar E-type isn’t your love, we have parts for other top classic British cars as well. We are big enough to serve, yet small enough to care about your British car. And for a limited time, we offer free shipping on all orders over $750! Get your car ready for the ultimate riding season that is coming soon!

  • We Help You to Overcome the Parts Hurdle

ZZ13297D6D.jpgThe top reason usually cited by Americans for not getting a British car is concerns over part and service availability. People tell us about horror stories about trying unsuccessfully to get a part, as it seems more and more car mechanics are opting to go mainstream and choose to stock parts for only the most common of vehicles. We are quite proud to say that British cars are indeed not “common,” and these classic and fun-to-drive cars with their sleek, unique lines and performance is why people love them so. That’s where we come in.

At British Parts Northwest, we are a family-operated business that opened our doors specifically to provide British car lovers with the ability to get parts easily and quickly so that they can drive and enjoy their car!
