  • British Cars Built for Racing

British Parts Northwest Classic Car Racing

Vintage Sports Car Racing is something that many British car enthusiasts may find of interest.  There are several classic British cars that were built specifically for racing and we wanted to highlight a few of those cars.

Austin Healey- The Austin Healey was one of the most popular British racing cars. It was raced by the Donald Healey Motor Company in Europe at Le Mans and in Sebring in the U.S . The last Big Healey to win an SCCA National Championship was the class E Production Austin-Healey 100-6 driven by Alan Barker at the Daytona ARRC in 1965. You can find parts for several Austin Healey models here at BP.

Jaguar- There were multiple models of the Jaguar that were involved in racing, including the C-Type, D-Type, E-Type, XJ13, XJ-C, XJ41 and XJ42. If you are the proud owner of an E-Type, you can get parts for your car, right here from our website!

Land Rover- There are a couple of modified Land Rovers that have competed in off-road racing, specifically the Dakar Rally and the Camel Trophy.

MG- In the MG family, the MGA, MGB, and Midget (MG Midget Racing Coupes) all had models that participated in racing. The MGA had considerable success, racing extensively in the U.S. There were MGBs that were specially tuned for racing, which achieved success including a Grand Touring category victory in the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally. There were 3 Midgets that were ordered by MG racing driver, Dick Jacobs. The cars were campaigned from 1962-1964. We have parts for the MGA, MGB and the Midget, in addition to other models of the MG.

Triumph- The Triumph Spitfire and GT6 both had models that were built for racing. We proudly carry parts for both of these Triumph models, in addition to other Triumphs!

  • Our Favorite Facebook Fan Photos-Fall Edition

We here at BP Northwest love our Facebook fans. They are devout customers and they do a fantastic job of helping us share our love for British cars. In order to show them a little appreciation, we have selected a few of their photos that they have shared with us in order to highlight them in a fall edition photo album. We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we do!

This orange beauty, a '75  MG Midget was shared with us by Tim Howard.

Dianne Paquette refers to these gorgeous cars as her "twin Jags". We love how they look in a lovely fall setting!

This 1963 Morris Mini Cooper was shared with us by Kevin King. Here is the background of the car that he included with the photo: The first year of the "S". 1071 engine used for that year only... they made about 900 of them. Mine had a factory conversion with full wood interior, roll up windows, sunroof, etc.

  • We Help You to Avoid the Parts Hunt for Your British Car

If you’ve had problems finding a particular part you need for your British car, you’re not alone. Customers have told us of their personal woes about trying unsuccessfully to get a particular part unsuccessfully. They’ve also told us how more and more local car parts businesses only stock parts for only the most common of vehicles. That’s where we come in.

At British Parts Northwest, we are a family-operated business that opened our doors specifically to provide British car lovers with the ability to get parts easily and quickly so that they can drive and enjoy their car! Our motto is that we are “Large enough to serve, small enough to care about your British car.” We are not a parts locator service. Rather, we stock what we sell, and then ship directly from us to you. There is no middle-man involved. We’re in business so you can enjoy quality ride time with your European car!

We provide parts and merchandise in the following categories that are tabbed for your convenience and ease in finding your needed part: AH BN1-BJ8, TR3-4A, TR250-TR6, TR7-TR8, Spitfire-GT6, MGA, MG TC TD TF, MGB, Sprite/Midget, Jaguar E-Type, and XJ 69-87. We also sell apparel and accessories and feature overstock specials and even featured products on our homepage.

We maintain our customers as the focus, and remembering what it was like when the owner had to search high and low for parts when originally racing Triumph Spitfires in the late 1970s. The goal of today of the business has never changed from the onset; our focus is to provide new parts for British cars, Triumph, MG, Jaguar and Austin Healey, at reasonable prices with fast, courteous, prompt service to the customer.

By having a reliable, honest “go-to” place for parts, there’s no reason why you can’t obtain and maintain the British car of your dreams!

Finally, if you’ve been resisting making the choice to purchase a classic British car, we encourage you to resist no longer. With the hurdle of finding parts out of the way, we hope you are more confident in joining the ranks of British car ownership over here in the U.S.!

  • Why We Love Austin-Healeys

The glamour of an Austin-Healey remains a love affair for those of us who adore this style of British sports car. Since its original debut in 1952, and then to the much-loved “frog-eyed’ Sprite in 1958, enthusiasts have adored their cars. Although Austin-Healeys were built in Great Britain, they were designed to appeal to Americans. In fact, 89 percent of their cars were exported to the U.S., where they are cherished. While 1972 marked the last year Austin-Healey ceased building cars, it is still exciting to see them on the roadways and raceways today.

ZZ447782B0.jpgAlong with parts for other treasured British cars, we stock products for Austin-Healeys and also for the later Sprite-Midgets. Featured AH products range from simple and inexpensive ignition rotors and transmission mounts to master cylinder brakes, 6-cylinder clutch slave cylinders and cam bearing sets.

We also have braking components, carburetion fuel systems, clutch components, cooling systems, cylinder heat components, drive trains, engine and interior electrical components, 4- and 6-cylinder engine components, performance parts, steering and suspension, and even tops and covers for your British baby.

At British Parts Northwest, we are proud of being a family-owned and operated business that stocks what we sell. If you’ve ever looked for parts for your British car, you know that isn’t always the case. We are not a parts locator service; rather we stock parts, accessories, and even apparel so you can be sure you have your car road ready when you are.

We also invite you to “like” our Facebook page and post your proud photos and be among the first to know of any specials and offers. Our goal is to make every customer a preferred customer and to share the love our beautiful British cars.

  • We Help You to Overcome the Parts Hurdle

ZZ13297D6D.jpgThe top reason usually cited by Americans for not getting a British car is concerns over part and service availability. People tell us about horror stories about trying unsuccessfully to get a part, as it seems more and more car mechanics are opting to go mainstream and choose to stock parts for only the most common of vehicles. We are quite proud to say that British cars are indeed not “common,” and these classic and fun-to-drive cars with their sleek, unique lines and performance is why people love them so. That’s where we come in.

At British Parts Northwest, we are a family-operated business that opened our doors specifically to provide British car lovers with the ability to get parts easily and quickly so that they can drive and enjoy their car! • Defining the Allure of a British Car

What is the allure of a British car? Well, for any European car own, the answers are so obvious that they may be perplexed you would even need to ask? The sleek styling, unique body, performance, quality, prestige, and even the novelty of owning a British car are all reasons cited. The one downside occasionally cited, however, is finding parts.

    ZZ3F071DE1.jpg

Many service centers stock only the most common parts, making it a challenge for some British car owners to find the parts they need when they need it. But no longer. BP Parts Northwest understands that. That’s why we are in business. As British car lovers ourselves, our motto is, “Big Enough to Serve, Small Enough to Care about Your British Car.”

Our online catalog includes overstock specials, apparel and accessories, new parts, hard-to-find parts, and we have categorized our offerings into easy-to-search lists. We make online ordering easy. But perhaps the best part is that we actually stock what we sell, so the item you need is shipped directly from us to your door. While some foreign car parts businesses are actually just a “locator” service and charge a mark-up to serve only as a middle-man, we maintain our stock. So, once you place an order, you can be confident it is actually on its way!

For a limited time only, we are also offering free shipping on all orders over $750. Check out our website and review our featured products for your beloved vehicle. Whether it is a convertible top for your TR7 or TR8, or simply a brake hose for your MGB or Rear Sprite Midget, we have you covered. We feel confident that once you order from us the first time, you’ll become a loyal customer!
